Talk to your family budget
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants to your FamilyJar budget. Log expenses and ask questions in plain language — no bank login, read-only by default.
https://mcp.familyjar.app/mcpWorks with any client that supports remote MCP (Streamable HTTP + OAuth).
What your assistant can do
A thin, read-only-by-default bridge to the budget you already keep in FamilyJar.
Log expenses by talking
“I spent 45 on groceries.” The assistant adds it to the right category — after you confirm.
Ask about your budget
How’s my food budget this month? What bills are due in May? Where did the money go?
Savings & debt insights
Check goal progress and model what an extra payment does to a loan — in plain language.
Read-only by default
A read token can’t change anything. Writing is a separate, explicit permission you grant.
Beta
The assistant proposes; you confirm. Always review what it adds before it’s saved, and sign in with your own FamilyJar account.

- Read-only by default — writing is a separate permission you grant.
- Sign in with your own FamilyJar account; revoke access any time.
- No bank login — it reads the budget you keep in FamilyJar.
- The assistant proposes a change; nothing is saved until you confirm.
Prefer something built in? The FamilyJar app has its own free assistant — no setup required.
