Request account and data deletion
Before You Delete
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including budgets, expenses, savings goals, and family connections will be permanently removed.
How to Delete Your Account
To request deletion of your FamilyJar account and all associated data, please send an email to our support team. We will process your request within 30 days.
Send an Email
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
Include Your Account Email
In your email, please include the email address associated with your FamilyJar account so we can locate and delete the correct account.
Wait for Confirmation
We will send you a confirmation email once your account and data have been permanently deleted. This process may take up to 30 days.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account information (email, name, profile data)
- All budget categories you created
- All expense records
- All savings goals and contributions
- Family connections and invitations
- Notification settings and history
Important Notes
- If you are the only parent in a family, deleting your account will also delete the family and all associated data
- If there are other family members, they will retain access to shared data
- We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
- You can create a new account at any time after deletion, but your previous data cannot be recovered
